Creative process
My work is born from a visceral need to reinterpret Mexico's artistic heritage through a personal narrative that gives me identity, rootedness, and freedom. I work from intuition, devotion to detail, and a fascination with manual techniques that carry centuries of history. In my pieces, pre-Hispanic symbolism, Virreina aesthetics from the colonial era, and echoes of Mexican folk art coexist. Traditional techniques such as papel picado, metal embossing, beaded embroidery, and mixed-media collages are transformed into my unique language to tell stories, pay homage, and awaken memories.
Creating is an intimate and powerful act for me. The first moment I encounter the materials excites me as much as observing the silent reaction of those who view my work without knowing I am the artist. I aim to generate mystery, provoke emotional connection, and invite nostalgia, suspending time—even if just for a moment.
I am an explorer of techniques, constantly experimenting and learning from diverse artistic practices. While I have formal training in Fashion Design and Interior Design, it was through self-directed research and experimentation that I found my true voice as an artist. My journey is an ongoing process of discovery, where I continue to challenge myself, pushing the boundaries of my creativity. My work is a journey between the ephemeral and the permanent, between craftsmanship and contemporary expression. It is a time machine made of textures, shadows, and symbols, where motherhood, memory, and the beauty of chaos merge into a single act of creation.
